| What to expect | Typical timing or rate | What is included |
|---|---|---|
| Standard in-shop labor | $100 per billed labor hour | Diagnostics, parts, shop supplies, taxes, mobile or after-hours work, and specialty repairs are quoted separately. |
| Typical repair turnaround | Same day for most repairs | If a job needs parts ordered in, or your truck arrives near closing, we finish it first thing the next business morning. If a part will take longer, we'll tell you upfront. |
| Estimate and approval | Before repairs begin | The team explains the diagnosis, recommended repair, estimate, and expected completion time before work is approved. |
Look for one corner sitting lower than the other, the trailer leaning when loaded, a clunk over bumps, or uneven tire wear on one axle. Crawl under and check for a cracked or missing leaf, a leaf shifted out of the stack, and rusted or loose U-bolts. A sag you can see from the dock is usually a spring that has already failed.
You should not. A cracked main leaf can let the axle shift, which affects tracking and braking, and a second leaf can let go without warning under load. If it is a minor leaf and the trailer is empty, you may be able to limp it to the shop. Call us first and we will tell you whether to move it or request mobile service.
It depends on what we find. If the opposite spring is the same age and showing fatigue, replacing both keeps the axle level and the ride even, and it saves a second visit. If the other side is sound, we replace only the failed spring. We inspect both sides, show you the condition, and put each option on the written estimate.
Most leaf spring jobs are done the same day. If a spring or hanger has to be ordered, or the trailer arrives late in the day, we finish it first thing the next business morning. We confirm the timing with you after inspection, once we know the spring size and whether any hangers, pins or U-bolts need to go with it.
Both. We handle leaf springs, hangers, shackles and U-bolts on trailers, and the full suspension on the tractor as well, including air bags, shocks, torque rods and alignment after the repair. If the truck and trailer are both due, we can do them in one visit. See our semi truck suspension repair page for the tractor side.
